“Internet Black Market” by IDPW (2013)

A self-proclaimed 100 year old online secret society, IDPW is a Japanese group that responds to the increasing homogenization of the internet through a series of web-themed parties. The Internet Black Market is a reaction to the increasing controlled platforms of commerce on the net. A variety of goods were sold, including an “IRL Re-tweet” (a guy who shouts your message), and stones with their scanned 3D data.

“Stylus – Episode #4: Projection Mural” by Urban Projection (2013)

Urban Projections is a group of mixed media artists who have recently created a series of videos in which projection artists and graffiti/spray paint artists collaborate on murals. These videos begin with the graffiti artist laying down the base painting for the piece, and then the projection artist goes in and plays with the space in and around the painting adding movement and complexity to the scene.

This collaborative work allowed for the exploration of the Berlin subway system on a homemade handcar. It explores the idea of a journey without a destination and the intricate workings of urban spaces.

“Swing” by Kamila Szejnoch (2008)

This swing installation by artist Kamila Szejnoch was hung on the Memorial to the Berling Army Soldiers in Warsaw in 2008. The piece applies a childlike and entertaining mentality to an otherwise serious and political object.

“Harvest Dome 2.0” by SLO Architecture (2013)

This massive dome created by Amanda Schachter and Alexander Levi of SLO Architecture floated down NYC waterways in August of 2013. Made out of recycled umbrellas and plastic bottles, the dome is a commentary on the use of Earth’s most vital resources.
