I personally find that the Kitsch is not a reasonable bases for a body of work. I thin that it can be used in a way that means something, or draws on some meaning. but most often it doesn’t. and although it is used in advertisement regularly that is what makes it kitsch to me, but then that brings up the problem of either being kitsch or being a hipster because you done do something because “they” tell you that everyone is doing it.
The artists I found that were critiquing the kitsch are; Banksy, Andy Warhol, and Jeff Koons.
