“CeNSE” by Hewlett Packard (2009-present)

HP’s CeNSE is the company’s ambitious project to actually achieve an Internet of Things. CeNSE stands for Central Nervous System for the Earth, the basic premise of which is introducing a huge number of sensors into public, whose data is what HP is primarily interested in.

One problem with most people working in this space is that they can provide a few small samples of the cuter end of what an Internet of Things entails. It takes a major company to actually implement these ideas on a relevant scale.
