“CeNSE” by Hewlett Packard (2009-present)
HP’s CeNSE is the company’s ambitious project to actually achieve an Internet of Things. CeNSE stands for Central Nervous System for the Earth, the basic premise of which is introducing a huge number of sensors into public, whose data is what HP is primarily interested in. The image HP likes to throw about to explain CeNSE. One problem with most people working in this space is that they can provide a few small samples of the cuter end of what an Internet of Things entails. It takes a major company to actually implement these ideas on a relevant scale. http://readwrite.com/2010/05/27/sensors_next_big_wave_of_computing |
