Intention is to mine surrounding resources to pick up noise and utilize what is
\nexisting to create music. To the audience, the limestone would have character
\nin appearing to absorb its surroundings and spew back altered sound. Piezo
\nunderneath both of the limestone blocks picks up a 60hz buzz that intensifies
\nin contact with the stone, size of the room that it\u2019s in, and warps\u00a0by touch.<\/span><\/p>\n

Approached from a visual point of view in using a type of sandstone as
\nsomething that absorbs, and liked the idea of having a brutalist-inspired
\ninstrument. Limestone is partially made out of dead coral and I was initially
\ndrawn to the idea of making inanimate objects feel alive through a performative
\naspect and sound.<\/span><\/p>\n

Final\u00a0results did not push the performative aspect as much as it could have in
\nrelationship to the sound it was producing,\u00a0and it would be interesting to turn
\nit into a project that utilizes the vibrations coming from the speakers. Limestone
\nwas not as conductive as I hoped in\u00a0producing different tones, which in this case,
\nwas where the max patch came in.<\/span><\/p>\n
