We first recorded the timing of the beeps and noticed that they lasted for around seven seconds, with the total crossing time being around 25 seconds.\u00a0In such an urban area, we wanted to\u00a0use nature sounds where it is least expected. Upon listening to the crosswalk beeps, we thought that it sounded much like a cuckoo sound coming from a bird, hence we decided for the crosswalk beep to trigger bird song.
