“One Human Heart” by Jen Lowe (2014 -2015)

Jen Lowe, data scientist and communicator of data, put her heartbeat on the internet for the last year. She includes the number of days she has lived, and the expected days remaining in her life based on statistics. At first she did not think much could be learned from her heart beat, but when she became pregnant it showed up on the information visualization she created to display her heart beat in real time. The implications of the experiment shifted, as the information she was giving out about her self did. A pregnant woman’s is worth 15 times that of an average person, because companies stand to make a lot of money from advertising to a pregnant woman.
