“Jesus the Homeless” by Timothy Schmalz (2012)
Jesus the Homeless is a bronze statue depicting Christ as a homeless person. Schmalz said the he created the statue in order to remind Christians that Jesus is with everyone, especially the marginalized. Reception to the piece has been mixed. Some have been unhappy with it, while at the same time a phenomenon has a risen of people sitting at the bench and touching its feet as an act of faith. Regardless, the piece has become a permanent installation outside Regis College in Toronto, Canada. http://www.christianpost.com/news/sculptors-jesus-the-homeless-challenges-christians-to-follow-gospel-of-matthew-94129/ |
