It is a social survey performance. Not only are the first-hand experiences of the participants are important, but the experiences that the viewers have with the documentation of the piece is a significant factor as well.<\/p>\n

For this project, I made a questionnaire for three people: the interviewer, the interviewee, a stranger who is willing to participate, and the interviewee\u2019s friend.<\/p>\n

Four questions that were asked to the interviewees:<\/p>\n

-What is your first impression of the interviewer?<\/p>\n

– Based on the interviewer\u2019s first impression, would you like to know more about the interviewer?<\/p>\n

– How would you describe yourself?<\/p>\n

– Do you think how other people describe your personality matches how you describe your self?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Two questions that were asked to the friends of interviewees:<\/p>\n

-How would you describe your friend (the interviewee)?<\/p>\n

– Do you think your friend\u2019s first impression describes his\/her real personality?<\/p>\n

Two questions that were asked to the interviewer:<\/p>\n

-What is your first impression of the interviewee?<\/p>\n

– Based on the interviewee\u2019s first impression, would you like to know more about the interviewee?<\/p>\n

Throughout this experience, I wanted to engage with more people, to see if people are able to objectively judge themselves, and to know if a first impression is reliable. Choosing to let the viewer to have their own judgments to the performance, I left the documentation in its rough form rather than analyzing it.<\/p>\n

The performance was successful, because I was able to meet new various people, and show the viewers the result of different traits. The performance was unsuccessful in a way that it didn\u2019t show many people enough to make a valid conclusion. I was not able to push this performance any further to anything more than psychological research.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
