Mold Making-Brita Filter
I had originally purely wanted to make an object that would originally not be able to float, to float. Although my final project did produce this outcome, I noticed that a different concept could be associated with this work. I decided to link this work to the idea of the shortage of clean water on earth. Upon doing more research i noticed that humans have polluted, diverted and allowed fresh water to be contaminated by seawater, along with the global warming dilemma melting the fresh water ice caps.
Laser Cut
WIM DELVOYE
Gothic style works
Laser Cut Steel
I really admire very elaborate gothic architecture. This series of Wim Delvoye interests me because of the extremely intricate details the laser cutter is able to capture to create a larger form.
3D Printing
Eyal Gever
Although this artist doesn’t utilize 3D scanning, this works mainly incorporate 3D animation software and 3D printing.
I am interested in Eyal Gever’s works because he uses 3D printing to create ephemeral moments. Moments that usually cannot stay in that position for a long duration such as the motion of water falling. I am interested in organic vs. inorganic theme, I think in many of his works this concept is present.
SCULPTURE- MOLDS.
AMBREEN BUTT
I Am My Own Diamond
I am interested in this work and most especially of the works of Tara Donovan because of the way the artists are able to create intricate patterns and volumes and structures with seemingly small, insignificant objects.
